Hoosier Pulls Opens Three 2026 Topps Holiday Mega Boxes: What the $30 Guarantee Covers
Hoosier Pulls posted "ARE THEY WORTH IT?! Opening (3) 2026 Topps Holiday Baseball Mega Boxes!" on Oct. 21, 2026, the day the product released. The video's description sets the terms: $30 a box, 10 packs per box, 10 cards per pack. The title asks the question, and three boxes are his answer.
Before watching anyone rip a $30 box, it helps to know exactly what Topps promises is inside it. The promise is narrower than "a hit per box" sounds.
What Topps Puts in the Box
Topps priced the 2026 Holiday Mega Box at $29.99 when preorders opened in September, DK Network reported, alongside a $44.99 Hobby Tins box and a $59.99 Advent Calendar. All three formats release on Oct. 21.
Topps' own box guide on Topps Ripped lists the Mega Box configuration as 10 packs per box and 10 base cards per pack, with "one autograph, relic, autographed relic, or Base Chrome Variation card in every box." The same guide describes the Base Chrome Variation as "a Chrome parallel version of the base set using the same imagery."
Analysis: So the guaranteed card has four possible forms, and the most modest of them is a Chrome version of a base card from the 200-card set. A box can deliver exactly what Topps promised without producing an autograph or a relic. That is not a flaw in the product, but it is the line to read before judging any single box. "Worth it" depends heavily on which of the four the box gives you.
What Only the Mega Box Has
Topps sells Holiday in three formats, and the guide sets aside specific content for this one. The Mega Box is "the exclusive home of the Holiday Relics, Holiday Faux Relics, and the wreath-shaped Oversized Die-Cut Ornament box topper," with Glitter Holiday parallels and Mega Box-only Metallic parallels named Candy Cane, Stocking and Holly. Topps describes the Holiday Relics as carrying "swatches tied to the season, including autographed variations."
Two parallels are new for 2026, Metallic Gingerbread Man and Snow Days, and Topps says the Mega Box carries the widest range of base parallels of the three formats.
The Elf Math
The release's search-and-find chase is the Hidden Elf, an insert of five players with five variations each, every card hiding a small elf in a different spot. It appears only in the Mega Box and the Collector Tin. In the Mega Box, Topps says, it lands "at a rate of one per case."
A sealed Mega Box case holds 20 boxes and was priced at $599.99, according to DK Network. That is $30 a box, the same as buying boxes one at a time.
Analysis: One Hidden Elf per 20-box case means three boxes are three-twentieths of a case. A three-box opening is far more likely to miss the elf than to find it, and that is the expected result, not bad luck. A collector chasing the elf specifically is shopping for a case, and the case price offers no discount for doing so.
The Video
Most of Hoosier Pulls' October uploads are openings of new releases: 2026 Topps Update hanger boxes, fat packs and a hobby box, Allen and Ginter blasters, Bowman Football megas and Topps Marvel Neon megas. The Holiday video opens three Mega Boxes, and the cards are in the video for anyone who wants to measure them against the guarantee above.
Verdict: A 2026 Topps Holiday Mega Box costs $29.99 and guarantees one card that is an autograph, a relic, an autographed relic or a Chrome version of a base card. The Hidden Elf falls once per 20-box case. Hoosier Pulls opened three boxes on release day to see whether that adds up to $30 of value.
