DKHITS Opens Two Boxes of 2026-27 Topps Flagship Basketball Before Release Day: 240 Cards and One Guaranteed Hit Apiece
DKHITS posted "BRAND NEW CLASS! NBA Topps Flagship 2026-27 Hobby Box Review! (2 CASE HITS!)" on Nov. 3, two days before Topps' Nov. 5 release date for the first Topps NBA flagship of the season. The title says two case hits. The more useful thing to bring to the video is what a hobby box of this product is built to deliver.
What Is in the Box
Topps' product page sets the configuration: 12 cards per pack, 20 packs per box and one autograph or relic card per box. That is 240 cards with a single guaranteed hit. A retailer release calendar from The Ballers Bank lists the same hobby configuration, adds a Jumbo format of 10 packs of 28 cards with one autograph and one relic, and describes the release as "the first official rookie cards for the 2026 draft class," with the rookies at the back of a 300-card base set.
Those rookies include AJ Dybantsa, Caleb Wilson, Cameron Boozer, Darryn Peterson and Brayden Burries, according to Cardsmiths Breaks' checklist.
The base set runs deeper than the 300 cards suggest. Topps lists short-printed Number Variations, Team Variations, Golden Mirror Image Variations and Wood Variations, plus Clear Variations, which are new for 2026-27. The insert lineup includes Poster Factory for dunkers, Drivers for slashers, and the return of the 1981-82 Topps Basketball design, with autograph variations.
Topps headlines its Super Short Prints with what it calls the first-ever Gold 1/1 All Kings cards in Topps Basketball, alongside Quest for the Crown and Bounce, which Topps says uses card technology "designed to mimic the texture of a real basketball." The relic lines are Flagship Real One Relics, Own the Game and Roundball Remnants. The autograph lines are Flagship Real One Autographs, Rookie Photo Shoot Autographs, New Applicants and Level Up Signatures.
What the Thumbnail Shows
The thumbnail has the host holding an open 2026-27 Topps Basketball hobby box with "X2" above it, matching the two boxes in the title. To his left is a gold-bordered LeBron James card in a Philadelphia 76ers uniform under the caption "FIRST LEBRON 76ERS CARDS!" To his right are a Victor Wembanyama card under "INSANE CLASS!", an Own the Game card and a red-bordered autograph, with "FIRST LOOK!" across the bottom.
The LeBron caption lines up with Topps' own copy, which promises "the first LeBron James Sixers and Giannis Antetokounmpo Heat cards" in the base set.
Analysis: Two boxes means two guaranteed hits. A title promising "2 CASE HITS" is a claim about rarer cards on top of, or in place of, those two, and the video is where that claim gets tested. The thumbnail does not say which cards came from these boxes, and neither does this article. Watch it and judge.
The Channel
This is the channel's first appearance on the blog. Its recent uploads mix box reviews, including an NFL Topps Holiday Mega Box review on Oct. 28, with sports-card shorts and Happy Wheels gaming videos.
The product itself has been here before. In CASE #0345, Mountain Jim Card Collectibles called 2026-27 Topps Flagship Basketball a "disaster" over a one-week pre-order delay and a base design carried over from Flagship Baseball and Football, and both of those facts checked out. This video is the other end of the same release: the boxes, opened.
Verdict: A two-box look at the first Topps NBA flagship of 2026-27, posted before street date. Bring the box math (240 cards and one guaranteed hit per box) and let the rips make the case for the title.
