CARDBOARD POLICE

Mystic Rips posted "The Delta Reign Opening" on Nov. 3, three days before the Pokémon Trading Card Game's Mega Evolution—Delta Reign expansion reaches stores on Nov. 6. That puts an opening of the set out ahead of release day, and the most useful thing to bring to it is what The Pokémon Company says the set contains.

What Is in the Set

The Pokémon Company's announcement gives the outline. Mega Evolution—Delta Reign "touches down on November 6, 2026," and it includes "over 135 cards, with more than 20 Trainer cards and over 35 cards with special illustrations."

The headliner is Mega Rayquaza ex, which the announcement introduces as "a renowned ruler of the sky." Three more Mega Evolution ex cards join it: Mega Golurk ex, Mega Malamar ex and Mega Golisopod ex.

The special illustration cards are the ones an opening like this is chasing. The counts are the announcement's own minimums, and they describe the checklist, not how often any one card turns up in a pack.

What the Thumbnail Shows

The thumbnail shows the host in a white-and-red cap. He holds up a full-art card with a green, serpentine dragon on it in one hand. Beside him is a booster display box with Delta Reign branding and packs visible in its open top. There is no overlay text. The card in his hand isn't legible enough to identify from the thumbnail, so this article doesn't name it.

Analysis: An opening before release day is a first look at the set, not a measurement of it. One display box is a sample. It can show what the special illustrations look like in hand and what a box can produce. It can't show pull rates, and no opening this early can say which cards will hold up once the set is widely available. Watch it for the cards, and leave the odds until the set has been opened at scale.

The Channel

This is Mystic Rips' first appearance on the blog. The channel posted a second Delta Reign video the same day, "OPENING THE FIRST DELTA REIGN ETB." Its other recent uploads lean on grading returns, with titles such as "PSA Hates Me And My Cards." and "More PSA Slabs have arrived ... They still hate me," alongside a daily hunt through Pokémon's 30th Celebration set.

Verdict: A Delta Reign opening posted three days before the set's Nov. 6 release. Bring The Pokémon Company's outline (over 135 cards, over 35 special illustrations, four Mega ex headliners led by Rayquaza), and treat the box as a first look, not as odds.
