Four Days Before a TCG-Only Card Show Opens in Allen, a TCG Channel Asked What Actually Sells There
TraderJons published "What ACTUALLY Sells at Card Shows in 2026" on September 15. Four days from now, a Dallas Card Show event built entirely around trading card games opens in Allen, Texas — and the week in between produced the biggest set of TCG auction results the hobby has recorded in a single seven-day span this year.
Who Is Asking
The channel's handle is @TCGTraderJons, and its recent feed says the same thing the handle does. Of the fifteen most recent uploads on the channel's public RSS feed, six carry an explicit Pokémon or Riftbound marker in the title itself — hashtags such as #pokemoncommunity, #pokemoncards and #pokemonvendor, or the Riftbound name outright.
The rest of the run fills in the register. There is a coin flip the channel could not say no to, a vendor who has every card, a binder-versus-slabs trade question, an attempt to open a Pokémon card shop inside sixteen days, a visit to Riot Games' headquarters, and two separate posts built around the same set of ponchos being traded. It is a trading-floor channel, filmed from behind and in front of the table.
It is also worth noting what the target video is not surrounded by. Across those fifteen titles, this is the only one that names card shows at all.
Analysis: that matters for how the title should be read. A question about what actually sells at card shows, asked by a channel whose feed is mostly trading card games, is a TCG-side answer to that question rather than a survey of the whole floor. The vantage point is a known one, and the feed is what establishes it.
The Show Four Days Out
The Dallas Card Show's own site lists a September 25-27 event under the heading "Dallas Card Show TCG," alongside a November 5-8 date and DCS-branded shows in Chicago and New Jersey. The organizer describes its series as "the Largest Card Show Series in the Nation!" and its Dallas event as the largest sports card show in the United States, held six times a year in Allen, Texas. Both of those are the organizer's claims about itself.
The same site carries the selling side of the operation in its own navigation: vendor tables and showcases, a vendor application, an autograph lineup, VIP and general admission tickets, and an eBay Live DCS store with its own live page. A show that runs a live-selling channel alongside the floor is answering the video's question in its own way, and doing it on the record.
The structure is the part that stands on its own. The same operator that runs a sports-card show six times a year has put a separate, TCG-specific edition on the calendar and given it its own heading and its own ticketing. A dedicated date is a scheduling decision, and scheduling decisions follow demand rather than leading it.
The Week the Video Landed In
CASE #0329, published today, covers what the top of the TCG market did between September 13 and 20. The five biggest publicly tracked sales in that window totaled $11,339,471 according to Sports Illustrated, working from Card Ladder data. Every one of them cleared $500,000. Pokémon took four of the five places, a PSA 10 Alpha Black Lotus finished third at $2,208,200, and the two largest were both Pikachu Illustrator cards.
The video went up on September 15, in the middle of that window and before most of those results were public. Nothing connects the two directly.
Analysis: the connection worth drawing is contextual rather than causal. Auction-house results describe what a handful of trophy cards did at the very top of a market. A show-floor video describes what changes hands at a table. Those are different markets that share a name, and the second is where almost every collector actually operates. A $5 million Illustrator says nothing about whether a $40 slab moved in Allen, Texas — and the table-level question is the one the sales data never answers.
